This webcast covers the basic information needed to help your clients structure and accomplish a 1031 exchange. You will learn the historical overview, evolution and statutory framework of IRC §1031. It is designed to provide the attendee the necessary knowledge of the tax and legal considerations to recognize opportunities and to properly structure like-kind exchanges of real property. You will also learn the necessary knowledge, skill and creativity to give proper advice to your clients.
Even though capital gains may be taxed at rates lower than ordinary income, like-kind exchanges offer the substantial tax benefit of deferring tax payments. A working understanding of like-kind exchange laws, rules and regulations is an essential attribute for every certified public accountant.
